▶ Ordering Tips:
Artwork Size:
Begin by entering the size of your artwork only. Frames made to fit this sized artwork. Then, select either a 'Standard Size' from the drop-down menu or enter a 'Custom Size'. Please measure the width and length of your artwork and enter this size.
Furthermore, our floater frames come with a standard 1/4" float. The "float" is the distance between the outer edge of your canvas/panel and the inner edge of the floater frame. This means we add 1/2" total to the dimensions you provide so that you will have a 1/4" float around all the sides. If you prefer a different float, please add an order note at checkout and specify your preference.
Select Spacer (if needed):
Then, if needed, adjust the height of your artwork with the right spacer from the 'Spacers' menu. Just select the thickness of your artwork from the drop-down menu, and we will provide a spacer appropriate for your artwork. Spacers lift the artwork in the frame to make the face of the artwork 3/8" to flush with the frame face/ top edge.
DO NOT ORDER THIS FRAME IF YOUR CANVAS IS THICKER THAN 1 5/8".
Installation (for Charleston area only):
Then, if needed, select an 'Installation option' from the drop-down menu. There are (4) different options for installing, receiving, and delivering your framed artwork.
Hardware (if needed):
Additionally, select the necessary hardware kit containing loops, screws, and wire to hang your artwork if needed.
▶ Shipping/Delivery Options:
If prompted select pickup, local delivery, or a ground shipping option. Pick-up and local delivery apply only to Charleston area orders. Then, if selecting pick up or local delivery, please be sure to also select local pickup or delivery as the "shipping method" underneath the address entry field at checkout so that you are not charged shipping fees.
Smaller Frames:
We always ship smaller to mid-sized frames as fully assembled by default. If the "Ready to Assemble" option is not shown, then the frame will ship fully assembled.
Moderate Sized Frames:
If this applies, shipping options and additional charges for fully assembled frames will appear as options after selecting "Nationwide Shipping". There are choices when shipping mid to large-sized frames. So, if prompted, choose between a "Ready-to-Assemble" kit for no additional charge or ship "Fully-Assembled" for a shipping surcharge.
Oversized Frames & Ready-to-Assemble:
Very large frames are shipped as "Ready-to-Assemble". These frames never incur additional charges. "Ready-to-Assemble" frames consist of precision-drilled dovetail corners and dovetail keys for a quick and easy assembly.
Please see our article under "About" for more information. Most, but not all frames can be shipped "Ready-to-Assemble". If you have selected a larger frame and do not see a "Ready-to-Assemble" option then the frame selected cannot be sent in this method. This typically occurs with floater frames that have a very thin side wall.
▶ The Ready-to-Assemble Option:
Mainly, the "Ready-to-Assemble" option allows large frames to be shipped efficiently saving you oversize shipping fees. Furthermore, this makes even the shipment of very large frames affordable.
Easy Assembly
Finally, assembling the frame takes about 5-10 minutes. Each leg of the frame has been measured, cut, and routed with precision dovetails on each end. These dovetails come together by tapping the supplied keys into place. This, plus a little glue makes the process quick and easy.
